The secret tip from Latium
The Federici winery is located near the ancient village of Zagarolo, south-west of Rome, on a hill of airy tufa. Since 1960, it has been run by members of the Federici family, who are committed to the traditions of the region. In the red wine sector, for example, the Cesanese grape variety dominates, which in many places is disappearing from the vineyards in favour of international varieties. This grape variety produces dark, fruity wines with an elegant spiciness and an astonishing ageing potential.
