Bodegas Salentein
Bodegas Salentein was founded in 1996 by the Dutchman Meindert Pon. Located in the Valle de Uco, they are regarded as pioneers in viticulture in this region, which is around 100 km south of Mendoza. The primary aim is to produce first-class wines, always with respect for nature as the most important resource. The winery is surrounded by 700 hectares of its own vineyards at an altitude of 900 to 1,700 meters above sea level at the foot of the mighty Andes. José Galante, Chief Winemaker for many years, is not only considered one of Argentina's most influential oenologists, but also one of the icons of modern winemaking. With over 30 years of experience, he knows the Valle de Uco like no other and his name is directly linked to the change in Argentinian wine style since the 1980s. The wines of Bodegas Salentein are authentic terroir wines that act as ambassadors for the heights of the Valle de Uco and embody a piece of this land.
