The Salento peninsula, also known as the "heel of Italy", forms the southern part of Apulia. Surrounded by 250 km of coastline, it lies at the heart of the Mediterranean region. The young Surani winery, which is run by the Pasqua family, is located in the heart of the DOC Manduria region. In the 1920s, the four Pasqua brothers left Puglia behind and founded a winery in Verona. 80 years later, the next Pasqua generation bought 80 hectares of land in the Manduria DOC and planted it with Primitivo vines, among others, thus combining the family's origins and winemaking tradition.
