Commanderie de Peyrassol

Founded by the Templars in 1204 in the heart of Provence, the Commanderie de Peyrassol is steeped in tradition and history. In 2001, Philippe Austruy and his nephew Alban Cacaret breathed new life into this wonderful jewel and turned it into a place that reflects its history. A vineyard focused on perfection, where art, which is omnipresent and Philippe's passion, harmonizes perfectly with nature. The Commanderie has 900 hectares, of which 92 hectares are dedicated to viticulture. These are surrounded by forest and garrigue in order to protect this unique terroir in the best possible way. Today, wonderful, fresh and precise wines are produced there on clay-limestone soils at an altitude of up to 330 meters. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate and optimal temperature fluctuations between day and night, the aromatic potential of the grapes is optimally preserved. Out of respect for the environment, the Commanderie de Peyrassol switched to controlled organic farming in 2019. The wines have been certified organic since the 2022 vintage.
