Wakefield
Wakefield is a true Australian family story - and a very successful one at that: The winery is now one of the most awarded in the world. Founded in 1969 by the Taylor family, the company is now in its third generation. 500 hectares of own vineyards form the basis for the wide variety of wine types at Wakefield; the location in the cool Clare Valley is the guarantee for the typical clear and fruity wines. The family owns further vineyards in the trendy McLaren Vale, where Australian viticulture originated, as well as in the still young "cool climate" region of Margaret River. The grapes from the individual origins are also skilfully blended in some of the wines. The result is unmistakably characteristic wines.
