Hardly any grape variety epitomizes southern Italy quite like Primitivo. Here it finds ideal conditions, particularly on the Salento peninsula in the prime vineyards between the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. These gentle slopes are also home to Fedele Angelillo’s Primitivo di Manduria. His family has been cultivating grapes—or rather, practicing the art of winemaking—for three generations. And this magnificent wine embodies that very spirit; with its intense aromas and full-bodied flavor, it makes the heart of every Primitivo fan beat faster. It bears the hallmark of its Apulian origins as well as the hallmark of its creator, Fedele—and so, as a strong representative of its roots, the Primitivo di Manduria more than deserves the Collezione di Famiglia designation.
