Edmond de Rothschild Heritag

5 sons, 5 sectors and a family history that goes back to the 16th century. The Rothschild family has now developed into a dynasty that has made a name for itself in a wide variety of sectors. In this way, they are also known for excellent Bordeaux wines that are unparalleled anywhere in the world.

When James de Rothschild, one of these five sons, gave in to his passion for wine in 1868 and acquired Château Lafite near Pauillac, he laid the foundation for a successful family business. More than 100 years later, his son Edmond de Rothschild continued his father's thought and bought two wineries in the Médoc region in 1973: Château Clarke and Château Malmaison. With this purchase, the Compagnie Vinicole Baron Edmond de Rothschild was born.

To this day, the excellent Bordeaux wines of the Edmond de Rothschild Heritage are known all over the world. Meanwhile, important estates are part of the portfolio, including Château Clarke, Château des Laurets and Château Malmaison, located on the left and right bank of the Gironde River. The wonderful leadership of the experienced winemakers Fabrice Darmaillacq and Fabrice Bandiera is reflected in each wine which are now considered icons of the different appellations.

In all processes, the Edmond de Rothschild family always follows the family motto »daring«. Which means that they not only transform fallow vineyards into fertile sites, but also produce cheese and honey, among other things. Generation after generation follows the pursuit of excellence, beauty and perfection, always respecting their surrounding nature.
