Original. Unconventional. Lively.
Nothing lifts your spirits like the right song. And little enhances the moment better than the right wine. What music is to the ears, wine is to our palate. Music producer Fritz Kalkbrenner and wine grower Nico Espenschied combine two crafts in one bottle. Fritz has a thoroughly modern understanding of electronic music. He knows the most popular clubs and the great festival stages and has been persuading people to sing along and dance for over 15 years. And Nico likes listening to electronic music as his unconventional characterful wines age in his cellar. The young wine grower has deep roots in Rhine-Hessen at the Espenhof vineyard in Flonheim. A shared passion for these two creative products – music and wine – brought the friends Fritz and Nico together. Two grape varieties have two characters. Sauvignon Blanc can be loud but can also be quiet. Riesling is down to earth and vibrant. Both are cosmopolitan wines that bring pleasure and joie de vivre. The composition that Nico and Fritz have crafted from three different vineyards is unique and invites you to enjoy the finer moments in life. The origins of the estate-bottled Kalkbrenner & Espenschied are in Rhine-Hessen, in a relatively cool spot with distinctive geological minerals. The small La Roche site is distinguished by a rare red rock that is over 280 million years old, giving an unmistakeable minerality to one Sauvignon Blanc parcel. The second plot of Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling ripens on the massive chalky soils of the Bingen mountain. You can taste the origin of the wine. Kalkbrenner & Espenschied stands for harmony of craft and nature, modernity and experimentation.
