Craftsmanship from the Rhône

François Dauvergne and Jean-François Ranvier set themselves the goal in 2004 of producing classic wines of the Rhône Valley at outstanding levels of quality in the François Arnaud line. Both of them had many years of long experience of producing and marketing high-end wines from the Rhône Valley and had gained a detailed knowledge of the region. Without vineyards of their own, they secured partnerships with selected estates from various AOC regions in the Rhône Valley. But they don’t just act as buyers at the harvest season, they advise the producers throughout the year on all processes. Already in winter they are advising on the pruning of the vines. Together, they select individual plots for future wines. All stages of work on the vineyard are agreed throughout the entire vegetation phase: routine pruning, harvesting the preliminary vintage, the right time for pesticides, always based on natural conditions and with the greatest of respect for nature and the environment. After the harvest they advise on the vinification of the new wines in the cellar. Each cask is sampled several times a week. Then the next steps for maturation and future of each wine are discussed. With their François Arnaud range the two creatives present the classic AOC origins of the southern Rhône Valley in all their variety and at impressive levels of quality. Expressive and typical, all with an outstanding relationship between price and enjoyment.
