Three quarters of the vineyards of the Château de Beaucastel are in the world-famous AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The reputation of this extraordinary site precedes it, and not without reason: The terroir is characterised by the influence of the Rhône which millions of years ago washed fragments of the Alps into the plain, creating the characteristic pebbly soils. With low precipitation, intense sunshine and large temperature variations, the microclimate also has an important role to play. This is where the pebbly soil makes its contribution to the success of each vintage: The pebbles absorb heat during the day and radiate it back to the vines at night-time. The Château de Beaucastel is an impressive reflection of this terroir with its authentic, long-lasting wines!
