Exciting wines and a proud wine grower

With well over 23,000 hectares of vines under cultivation, the Palatinate is Germany’s second largest wine growing area. It also continuously sets new standards for wine quality in the German wine market. Heinrich Vollmer from the Rhine plain at Mittelhaardt mountain plays a large part in this. Back in 1972, aged just 24, Heinrich Vollmer realised the enormous potential offered by its deep, gravelly soils. In the years that followed he turned it into one of Germany’s most famous and successful privately owned wine estates. His ability and innovation create unique mineral-based, highly expressive wines that stand for themselves. Heinrich Vollmer has been synonymous with the German wine growing scene for years, well beyond his home in the Palatinate region. Always one step ahead, even in his youth, he has created this great label by straying from the beaten path of modern viticulture ever since. This mindset is maintained and cultivated by the new generation of wine growers lead by his daughter Eva.
